Art is a journey. The more you do, the better you are at it. With each painting or idea I create, I grow.

I began drawing when I was just a child… I was motivated by one thing and one thing only. I wanted a horse! I begged to have one every day, knowing that I would probably never have one. But what better way to get my parents attention than to draw a horse every day until I received my wish! Sadly, I never got my childhood horse… But what I did get, was the ability to draw horses very well . I know, right? Sounds like a pretty sad story, But in reality… If I’d gotten my horse would I even be able to draw today? Soon love for horses would turn into love for drawing horses… and then dogs, and cars and cartoons. Since then I’ve ventured into many mediums and subjects. From oil to pastels to watercolors and acrylics , my journey has taken me so many places I thought I’d never go! I thank God every day for the gift of art… For being able to use my hands for His glory! What an amazing feeling that is!

I begin to venture into using my hands for other things when I was a young child growing up in our family machine shop business… I realized that I enjoyed doing many things including trying my hand at welding, metal lathe work, milling , mechanic work, chainsaw carving and then woodworking! Woodworking became a large part of my passions when I made my first wooden spoon without the use of power tools. Such a sense of accomplishment comes over me as I eat my favorite homemade soup in a handmade wooden bowl with my handmade wooden spoon on my favorite homemade table ! I will use my hands to make new things for as long as The Lord lets me live. I can’t wait to try all the new things that are yet to be tried! I will never stop learning.
